It's unusual that I make a painting in "one shot." The painting usually accrues over several different sessions in the studio. The big ones sometimes take a couple of years to complete nowadays. But this new pizza painting (on the right) just might be fully cooked after just one shot. That's one dividend of working in a series. There seems to be an infinite number of ways to serve up this form, so why not just let this one be and start a fresh one?
